The Real Animal House

Chris Miller

TOGA TOGA TOGA! Get ready to party like it's 1963 because Alpha Delta Phi has been re-colonized!  Come pledge the original Animal House, where it's going to be rowdier than senior year Greek week. What to expect: live music, cafeteria delicacies, frosty kegs flowing like Dean Wormer's tears, Greek tragedies, maybe a horse (don't ask - just be there). So channel your inner Belushi, grab whatever you'd wear to a frat house about to be shut down and earn your pledge pin!  Remember, nothing is over until we decide it is! See you at Delta House. No deans. Some rules. No mercy.

Don your boots and cowboy hat to hit the Appalachian trail. You’re sure to come across a colorful cast of characters in this modern day Western crime town, where drug dealers, coal miners, the Dixie Mafia and U.S. Marshalls come to blows. Masters of Rome
Colleen McCullough

Friends, Romans, countrymen, lend us your ears; we come to celebrate Novel Night, not to bury it. On the eve of October the 4th, emperors and Roman elite, gods and goddesses, gladiators, poets, and philosophers will join us under the tent at an Ancient Rome-style feast and your presence is requested by Jupiter himself! Roman delicacies will be served buffet-style, and lively spirits and wine will flow like the Tiber River. You may have your future told by an ancient oracle or bump into Julius Caesar at the bar. No matter what, Bacchus will see to it that you have a good time. What about costumes, you ask? As our friends over at Animal House say: Toga! Toga! Toga!

Rock Names from Abba to ZZ Top: How Rock Bands Got Their Names
Adam Dolgins

Tonight, you’re not just with the band, you are the band. Join us at the legendary CBGBs, re-opening for just one night in Pelham. Did you know that Pearl Jam was named for Eddie Veder’s grandmother, the B-52s were named for their towering bouffant hairdos, and Smashing Pumpkins got their name as a joke? The one thing they all have in common is that they may be appearing together at this year’s Novel Night. Take a look back at where these legends of music got their start and come ready to rock and roll. If you’ve got the musical chops, you’re welcome to sing or play along with the (live) band. But, as long as you bring your appetite for destruction (during a buffet dinner), you can listen, head bang and rock your way through the night. Just hope for some great weather, because we all know Pelham nights can be slippery when wet.

Dolly: My Life and Other Unfinished Business
Dolly Parton

Howdy y’all! We’re fixin’ to take a trip back to the “Sweet Summer Lovin’” 1970s, where country music was golden and bell bottoms were the height of fashion. Go all-out glam with rhinestones, fringe, and everything that shimmers and shines or keep it easy like Sunday morning with some dungarees and flannel. Either way, we’re talkin’ big hair, bold looks, and that Southern charm that can’t be beat. So dust off those cowboy boots and get ready to boogie with 70’s country tunes, some good ol’ fashioned Southern comfort food and drinks that’ll go down smoother than a well-worn satin sheet after a long day. And if you’re not sure if this is the right party for you, simply ask yourself “What would Dolly do?”
